The first week of May is known as Mental Health Week here in Canada. And while mental health and wellness is always an important topic, it’s become especially relevant during this pandemic shutdown. Many people are feeling isolated, confused and scared during the uncertainty of this time, and we’re hearing more and more reports of how the people at the front lines are being especially impacted.

Helping to facilitate a conversation around mental health, including promoting the therapeutic benefits of mindfulness activities such as journalling, has long been a goal for us at Paperblanks. So for this year’s Mental Health Week we reached out to some local healthcare organizations to see how they are coping during this difficult time, and how we can help.

In an effort to help our communities during the pandemic, we are proud to support our local hard-working and courageous front line workers via the Surrey Hospital Foundation, the Burnaby Hospital Foundation and the British Columbia Women’s Health Foundation. We have donated a selection of journals to help provide a mental health outlet for the healthcare workers these foundations support. These foundations are providing assistance to hospital staff and their families, and we would like to thank them – and all those essential personnel on the front lines – for their efforts during this time.

We truly are all stronger together and we hope that journalling can provide a sense of relief to anyone struggling with emotional wellness, not only now, but always.
