What would one find in the pages of your Paperblanks journal?
Photographs I’ve taken and then surrounded with beautiful Japanese paper. It’s my take on scrapbooking. The photos are the center of the page but I like to make it interesting by taking scraps of Japanese paper and creating a different mood for each photo.

Do you have any specific themes that you continually refer to in your work?
I love to work with color.  Once a pattern or shade catches my eye, I can’t get it out of my head and need to find a way to incorporate it into something creative.

No matter what type of creative art you make, what or who first inspired you to make it an essential part of your life?

Throughout my life, my dad has encouraged me to embrace my creativity by learning music, studying photography and by reading books.  He also made sure that we traveled a lot when I was a kid, exposing me to different cultures and countries.

How did you find Paperblanks?
At the most adorable little store in Boulder, Colorado, called Two Hands Paperie.

What sets Paperblanks apart from other journals you’ve used?
The intricacy and beauty of the designs attracted me right away.  Each one is stunning and the pages feel as though they’re waiting for you to fill them with something magical.

Do you have a favorite Paperblanks design?

No, I honestly love them all!

Do you have any advice for other creative people?
Don’t ever limit yourself. With art, as in life, the possibilities are endless!
