What would one find in the pages of your Paperblanks journal?
I am simultaneously using three notebooks. Laurel Burch Mystical Horses is full of inspiring quotes, Laurel Burch Blossoms is filled with random things to make my day by day happier, and I use the French Ornate design for my 2012 agenda.
Do you have any specific themes that you continually refer back to in your work?
I love landscape and travel photography, and my style is mostly characterized by the use of intense, contrast and vivid colors. I like to catch with my camera the natural beauty found in different places and objects.
Who first inspired you to make art an essential part of your life?
My passion for photography is largely due to two important people in my life: My father and my grandfather. I remember both of them using great cameras and giving me useful advice about photography, all of which led me to want to take pictures of my own and become a photographer myself.
What sets Paperblanks apart from other journals you’ve used?
Many aspects make Paperblanks the best choice: The quality of the products, the beautiful and unique design of the covers, the variety of models to choose, but most importantly I find it is the inspiration they transmit and how each makes me want to write in it!
Do you have a favorite Paperblanks design?
I love Paperblanks’ most colorful, intense designs, as I find their shiny colors evoke happiness and positive energy.
Do you have any advice for other creative people?
Even if you don’t have inspiration in that moment, try it and keep working. Pablo Picasso said: “Inspiration exists, but it has to find you working.”
