Legend has it that hanging a wooden Bird of Happiness in one’s home will bring good health and fortune to those who live under its warm embrace.
They are often hung over the hearth, above the dining table, and over a child’s cradle. The movement of warm air in a home brings the wooden birds to life, spinning them in a circle where they hang.
Artist Nadya Sokolova has taken inspiration from this classic tale of Russian folklore and brought new life to the birds of legend. Using her unique style of batik painting on silk, Sokolova captures the warm and sunny legend of lore.
The first title in our Birds of Happiness series was the flaming red Firebird in a softcover Flexi format.
This season we are pleased to announce that Firebird is being released as a hardcover journal! Rounding out this colourful series is our Skybird design in a vibrant blue.
Firebird is available as an ultra, midi, and mini softcover Flexi notebook and hardcover journal, and a bookmark, jigsaw puzzle, and canvas bag.
