Have you ever wondered what the people behind Paperblanks get up to every day? Did you ever look at a Paperblanks design and wonder, “Hmm, how would this look on my desk?” Well, in this new exclusive blog series, we are diving headfirst into uncovering what our staff have on their desks.
This week we spoke to our Marketing Manager, Larissa, who, coming up on her two-year mark at Paperblanks, has worked her way through the ranks and is now spearheading all our amazing campaigns and showcasing Paperblanks to the world!
I asked Larissa what her day-to-day looks like in the Marketing department. She mentioned that no two days are ever the same, and that she is constantly in conversation and keeping connected. Whether it’s leading meetings with her team or other departments, organizing the next day of production, approving materials, or coming up with solutions to whatever arises, she is always busy and in conversation. She also keeps a close eye on the adherence to all standards and guidelines from our licensors, an important role in making sure everyone is happy.
I asked Larissa what Paperblanks daily essentials she needs to get through a busy day. She said that this year she’s testing out our softcover format, even though she’s a hardcover girl at heart. She’s using the 12-month horizontal planner with the Van Gogh’s Irises design, the perfect format for keeping track of meetings and calls, and for staying organized for the week ahead.
For quick notes during meetings or pulling key points from emails, she uses her Spinola Hours journal, also in softcover. Another daily essential is her Blue Velvet pencil case, which she uses to store charging cables instead of pencils, a clever and creative use of our product.

I then asked Larissa if there are any non-Paperblanks essentials that take a place of pride on her desk. She shared that she keeps lots of items that remind her of her father, husband, and friends, and even a gift from our licensor, Cartoon Saloon.
The favourite pieces she can’t live without are her rubber ducks of Chandler and Rachel from Friends, a lovely gift from her husband that sits proudly on her desk. She also has a St. George sword from her father, and her perfect office companion, Saoirse, a stuffed teddy bear given to her by Cartoon Saloon as a thank-you after our successful event in Dublin earlier this year.
We love having plants in the Dublin office, and Larissa is no stranger to that. While showing me her desk, she mentioned she has been keeping her snake plant alive for quite some time by growing it in a cup of water. She joked, “It all started as a test, but she’s thriving, and I love looking at her!”
From Spinola Hours softcovers to sentimental duck duos, we thank Larissa for giving us insight into her Paperblanks Daily Desk essentials. Tune in next week to find out what other products our Paperblanks team can’t live without!
