In one’s life there are so many important milestones to keep track of. Some are quite personal, such as your career and financial goals, and some are almost entirely about others, as with the important development steps taken by your children. And somewhere right in the middle are the dates, highlights and growth that occur when you are in a relationship. When we first released our 10-Year Journals we received a lot of feedback about how great these would be as wedding gifts, and we agreed! More than just tracking the first ten years of a marriage, these journals are the perfect way to actively reflect on your relationship as you grow together, whether you start on your very first date or your 50th wedding anniversary.

Though you can begin on any day, as part of our ongoing 10-Year Journals in “real life” series, I chose to start my new journal on the day that my partner and I moved in together for the very first time.

The 10-Year Journal

We chose a Gold Inlay 10-Year Journal to start chronicling the memories we will be making together in our new home. While we are not so great at remembering to write every day, at least once a week we get together to add our thoughts on what’s happened since our last entry. We try to focus on the things we do together, rather than making it one-sided (e.g., about my workday and not his). That type of stuff can go in our own, personal journals!

The Relationship Milestone Booklet

Admittedly, it is a bit daunting to take on the entire booklet at once. There are so many opportunities for reflecting that filling it out in a rush may mean forgetting something important or having an attitude of “getting it out of the way” rather than really enjoying the process. We are slowly working our way through the opening pages before filling out the first yearly tracker; that way we still get the fun of the booklet mixed in with the daily log. We are trying to keep to the “new home” theme, too, so are not going back to add old mementos to our journal. We are instead thinking about what we’d like to add as we go and I can’t wait to see how it develops!

When you’ve chosen the booklet you’d like to print, please follow the instructions below:

1. Save the booklet to your computer
2. Open the booklet file
3. If your printer CAN print double-sided:
   1. The booklet has been created in landscape orientation, so please select “Double-Sided: Flip on the Short Edge” and press “Print”
   2. Proceed to Step 5
4. If your printer CANNOT print double-sided:
   1. The booklet has been created in landscape orientation and formatted for double-sided printing, so please print ONLY THE ODD PAGES at first
   2. Place the first 4 printed pages back in your printer tray so that the even pages will print on the blank side, and PRINT ONLY THE EVEN PAGES
5. With all the sheets now printed (4 in total to create 16 booklet pages), stack them so that Booklet pages 16 and 1 are on top, and fold in half to create your Milestone Booklet
6. Slide the booklet into the decorative folder so that the elastic holds the pages in place over the centre fold
7. Fill in the booklet! Some parts can be filled as you go; others can be updated every year

Wenn Sie das Heftchen gewählt haben, das Sie ausdrucken möchten, befolgen Sie bitte folgende Anweisungen:

1. Speichern Sie das Heftchen auf Ihrem Computer
2. Öffnen Sie die Datei des Heftchens
3. Wenn Ihr Drucker doppelseitiges Drucken unterstützt:
   1. Das Heftchen ist im Querformat erstellt worden; wählen Sie daher die Option: „Doppelseitig:kurze Seite“ und klicken Sie auf „Drucken“
   2. Weiter zu Schritt 5
4. Wenn Ihr Drucker KEIN doppelseitiges Drucken unterstützt:
   1. Das Heftchen ist im Querformat und für doppelseitiges Drucken erstellt worden; wählen Sie daher erst die Option „NUR UNGERADE SEITEN DRUCKEN“
   2. Legen Sie nach dem Drucken der ersten vier Seiten das Papier erneut in den Druckerschacht, vergewissern Sie sich, dass die geraden Seiten auf die unbedruckte Seite gedruckt werden, und klicken Sie auf „NUR GERADE SEITEN DRUCKEN“
5. Wenn alle Seiten gedruckt sind (4 beidseitig bedruckte Blätter für die 16 Seiten des Heftchens), stapeln Sie sie so, dass die Heftchenseiten 16 und 1 oben liegen und falten Sie sie in der Mitte, um das Meilenstein-Heftchen fertigzustellen
6. Stecken Sie das Heftchen in die Schmuckseite, sodass das Gummi die Seiten über der Mittelfalte festhält
7. Füllen Sie das Heftchen aus!Einige Teile werden im Laufe der Benutzung ausgefüllt, andere wiederum einmal pro Jahr

Cuando haya elegido el cuaderno que quiere imprimir, siga estas indicaciones:

1. Guarde el archivo del cuaderno en su ordenador.
2. Abra el archivo.
3. Si su impresora SÍ imprime a doble cara:
   1. El cuaderno está diseñado para imprimirse en formato horizontal; elija la opción de dar la vuelta a la hoja por el borde corto y haga clic en Imprimir.
   2. Vaya directamente al paso 5.
4. Si su impresora NO imprime a doble cara:
   1. El cuaderno está diseñado para imprimirse en formato horizontal y a doble cara. Imprima primero ÚNICAMENTE LAS PÁGINAS IMPARES.
   2. Una vez impresas esas cuatro primeras páginas, colóquelas en la bandeja de la impresora para imprimir a continuación ÚNICAMENTE LAS PÁGINAS PARES en las caras en blanco.
5. Ahora que tiene todas las hojas impresas (cuatro en total, que forman las dieciséis páginas del cuaderno), apílelas de modo que las páginas 16 y 1 queden en la parte de arriba y dóblelas por la mitad. ¡Listo! Ya tiene su cuaderno de recuerdos.
6. Guarde el cuaderno dentro de la funda decorativa de modo que la goma elástica sujete las páginas por el doblez central.
7. Ya puede empezar a escribir en el cuaderno. Algunos apartados pueden ir rellenándose a lo largo del tiempo y otros pueden actualizarse cada año.

Lorsque vous avez choisi le livret que vous souhaitez imprimer, veuillez suivre les instructions suivantes :

1. Sauvegarder le livret sur votre ordinateur
2. Ouvrer le fichier
3. Si votre imprimante PREND en charge l’impression recto verso :
   1. Le carnet a été créé au format paysage, veuillez donc sélectionner l’option “Recto-Verso: Retournersur les bords courts” et appuyer sur imprimer.
   2. Passer à l’étape 5
4. Si votre imprimante NE PREND PAS en charge l’impression recto verso :
   1. Le livret a été créé au format paysage et formaté pour l’impression recto verso, n’imprimez pour le moment QUE LES PAGES IMPAIRES.
   2. Placer à nouveau les 4 premières pages imprimées dans le bac de l’imprimante afin que les pages paires s’impriment sur le côté vierge et N’IMPRIMEZ QUE LES PAGES PAIRES.
5. Maintenant que vous avez imprimé toutes les pages (4 au total afin de créer un livret de 16 pages), empiler les de sorte que les pages 16 et 1 du livret soient au-dessus, et plier les en deux afin de créer votre Livret Étapes Importantes.
6. Glisser le livret dans la chemise décorative afin que l’élastique puisse maintenir les pages en place sur le pli central.
7. Amusez-vous maintenant à remplir votre livret ! Certaines parties peuvent être remplies au fur et à mesure ; d’autres peuvent être mises à jour chaque année.

Hai scelto il libretto che desideri stampare, ora prosegui come indicato di seguito:

1. Salva il libretto sul tuo computer.
2. Apri il file del libretto.
3. Se la tua stampante PUÒ stampare su fronte e retro:
   1. Il libretto è stato creato per essere stampato orizzontalmente (Landscape-Panorama), quindi occorre selezionare l’opzione fronte e retro: rilegatura con taglio corto e premere Stampa.
   2. Passare al punto 5.
4. Se la tua stampante NON PUÒ stampare su fronte e retro:
   1. Il libretto è stato creato per essere stampato orizzontalmente (Landscape-Panorama) e formattato per stampa fronte e retro, quindi stampa prima SOLO LE PAGINE DISPARI.
   2. Colloca le prime 4 pagine stampate di nuovo sul vassoio della stampante, in modo tale da stampare le pagine pari sul lato vuoto, quindi stampa SOLO LE PAGINE PARI.
5. Una volta stampati tutti i fogli (4 in totale per creare un libretto da 16 pagine), sistemali in modo tale che la pagina 16 e 1 del libretto rimangano in alto, e piega a metà il plico per creare il tuo libretto e annotare i momenti più importanti.
6. Inserisci il libretto all’interno della custodia decorativa in modo tale che l’elastico trattenga le pagine lungo il centro della piega.
7. Ora devi solo compilare il libretto. Alcune parti possono essere compilate man mano, mentre altre possono essere compilate annualmente.

3. Для принтеров с возможностью двусторонней печати:

5. Теперь все листы распечатаны (всего 4 для создания 16 страниц буклета). Сложите их в стопку так, чтобы стр. 16 и стр. 1 были сверху, затем сложите пополам – Ваш юбилейный буклет готов!
6. Положите буклет в декоративную папку так, чтобы резинка держала страницы по центральному сгибу
7. А теперь пора заполнять буклет! Кое-что можно заполнить сразу, остальное можно дописывать каждый год
