For Fall 2014 we’ve added a new design in two vivid colours to one of our most popular series of journals, the Silver Filigree Collection. Originally designed in Germany in the early 1800s, the gilded and polished silver motif adorning our new covers is enhanced by the beautiful purple and green jewel tones of these Aubergine and Esmeralda journals.
The word “filigree” derives from the Latin words filum (thread) and granum (seed). For our Silver Filigree collection, the intricate filigree-inspired bindings are enhanced with foliage-ornaments and page edge printing. Our new Aubergine design is also adorned with delicate clasp closures.
The art of filigree is a moving testament to the human drive to ornament in order to delight the eye and focus the spirit and attention. Available in formats from Grande to Mini and with lined or unlined interiors, our new Aubergine and Esmeralda covers are vibrant additions to this favourite collection.
